With Christmas being less than a week a way I thought I would share a few of my favorite things that I purchased this month. All of the items were bought locally, supporting the shop small, shop local theme.
Decolights Teeny Bulbs
I have to admit our new slim tree at 8 Bonnie is not a favorite among the Eight family. It is quite slim and just doesn’t have enough twinkle on its own. Did I mention it cost less than $40 on sale? I saved a few dimes with that purchase!
On Small Business Saturday, Mr. Eight and I visited the Elf Made store next to Calef’s Country Store in Barrington, NH. If you haven’t been to either of these stores, you must get there. Now! The donuts and donut holes and the gingersnaps are to die for at Calef’s. The merchandise at Elf Made is very New England. At Elf Made, Mr. Eight and I spied beautiful twinkle lights wrapped around a rustic wooden ladder adorned with Christmas greens. We bought two packages of the twinkle lights and placed them on our slim tree. They add the extra touch the tree needed. Elf Made doesn’t have the lights listed on their website but I did find them on Amazon. I encourage you to shop local and pick these up at Elf Made for yourself but if you can’t Amazon is the place to shop via world wide web (affiliate link).
PS – Mr. Eight and I went back the following weekend and bought 2 more boxes of lights to wrap around the garland that is on our mantle. We love it!
My workplace recently had an employee Christmas craft fair. My department owned the craft fair!!! What a pleasure to see their hobbies and crafts displayed and available for sale.
One of my coworkers owns Castleware. She hand crafts functional and decorative stoneware. I bought two lovely ornaments with a sea glass finish. I also have an order placed for a ring-holder. Her work is absolutely beautiful and reasonably priced. She doesn’t only craft stoneware. She also makes knitting bowls, cheese and appetizer platters out of melted glass bottles, and many other unique items. Castleware is local so if you are looking for a last minute gift check her out on Facebook.
My sea glass stoneware ornaments on our tree:
K’s Kitch’n makes AMAZING pickles. I have tried the Bread and Butter and Wasabi Ginger pickles. Yummy! I have a few jars in my refrigerator, too. K’s pickles taste great on a cheeseburger fresh off the grill. K’s Kitchn’ is local so, again, if you need a last minute gift check K out on Facebook! She will be at the Beverly Farmer’s Market on Monday afternoon.
Enjoy! Have a great weekend!
